Episode 9: The Bad Button Bespoke Corsets

Episode 9 features Alisha, the owner of The Bad Button Bespoke Corsets. 


Alisha does a lot of costuming work, both historical and fantasy, but focuses mainly on corsets.  The Bad Button Bespoke Corsets opened a little over ten years ago, making true custom corsets for clients.  Everything you'll see at their booth is entirely hand made by Alisha, using modern updates on historic techniques, and proper corsetry materials.

Episode 10: The Learned Lemur

Episode 10 features Jonathon, the owner of The Learned Lemur.

The Learned Lemur specializes in antique medical devices and tools, human remains, religious relics, skeletal articulations, animal skulls, and much more. All of their skulls are cleaned in house by their colonies of flesh eating beetles, and all articulations are done by Jonathon.

Episode 14: Crimson and Conjure

Episode 14 features Sara, the owner of Crimson and Conjure.

 

Sara grew up in the rural south, with a Native American healer grandmother on her father's side and an immigrant Italian "Strega" grandmother on her mother's side.
She was homeschooled into her teen years about the earth and healing - So all of Crimson and Conjures saves, oils, and balms are tried and true.

Episode 17: Dark Arts & Roses

Amanda is a self-taught artist with a degree in art history, as well as tattoo and cosmetology licenses.  She likes to work small, with a ton of detail and loves to juxtapose bright, bold color schemes with dark and macabre subject matter. Amanda is fascinated by the beauty that can be found in darkness.

Episode 20: Curioscape Designs

Episode 20 features Jess, the owner of Curioscape Designs. 

 

 Jess is a Denver-based artist who creates small sculptures and jewelry using elements of nature. She finds inspiration in science, magic, and the natural world while exploring themes of death, conservation, learning from the natural world around us, and the beauty of decay. The materials used in her artwork include insects, bones, moss, flowers, and crystals. Jess assembles these items into tiny environments called “Curioscapes”. They are inspired by the assemblages of natural curiosities found in the Wunderkammer, or Curiosity Cabinets of sixteenth century Europe. She also creates work in the style of witch bottles and spirit houses found in traditional witchcraft practices. Jess uses art as a ritual practice, creating her work with intention and love, and honoring the creatures that are preserved within each piece.

Episode 23: Mallory Hart Art

Episode 23 features Mallory, the artist behind Mallory Hart Art. 


 Mallory Hart is a professional artist and illustrator based out of Denver, Colorado. Inspired by the rustic, gritty, industrial side of the natural world, she renders a style that is both realistic and playful. Mallory specializes in watercolor but regularly works with acrylic and oil, as well as other mediums. Her vast portfolio runs the gamut from disquietly dark skull images to joyously heartwarming pet portraits. In addition to fine art, Mallory creates enamel pins, patches, and stickers.

 Atomic Folk Art specializes in the preservation of animal remains, with an emphasis in ornate displays that exhibit a victorian or baroque aesthetic. They work with all sorts of insects and other preserved animals to create elegant natural history influenced pieces. Episode 26: ShadowMyths

Episode 26 features Dougie, the artist behind ShadowMyths. 


Dougie is a dark fantasy illustrator, but started out as a gallery landscape painter. Eventually his wife said that he should paint what he loves.... monsters! The ShadowMyths decks came out from Dougies idea to write books that weren't the usual art book.  So, now he has his own world and his own stories... with paintings and mythologies to show others what it looks like.

Episode 28 features Steve, the artist behind Mad Hatter Creations.

Eccentric Supply specializes in ethically sourced animal products. They mostly sell the pieces not used by the industry that the animal was unfortunately killed for. They make sure that pieces like the feet, tails, bones, etc are preserved and do not go to waste. Episode 30: Nighttime Nicholas

Episode 30 features Nicholas, the owner of Nighttime Nicholas. 


 Nighttime Nicholas creates some wild things. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Nicholas currently focuses on diaphonization - a process that uses animals and makes muscles and tissues see-through while staining the bones. Imagine a gummy-bear with a skeleton, THAT's diaphonization. This process takes many months to perform, and Nicholas' personal process has allowed him to work all over North America, working with leading scientists from museums, donating to natural history collections, and co-writing papers with professors from Cornell.
