The Oddities and Curiosities Expo is a one-of-a-kind traveling showcase featuring over
150 oddity vendors and artists from across the country. This is where the weird,
wonderful, and downright bizarre come together in a fascinating display of the
extraordinary.
The event will visit Sydney on 2nd and 3rd December, Brisbane on 9th and 10th December, and Melbourne on 16th and 17th December.
If you appreciate the strange and unusual, this is your playground. Step into a world where you can browse and shop for rare and unique items, including taxidermy, preserved animal specimens, original horror and Halloween-inspired artwork, antiques, metaphysical accouterments, handcrafted oddities, skulls, bones, and funeral collectibles.
But it's not just about shopping; it's an immersive experience.
The expo offers photo ops, tarot readings, sideshow performers, and concessions to keep attendees entertained and engaged throughout the day.
Founded in Oklahoma by Michelle and Tony Cozzaglio, they have hosted over 200 events from coast to coast in North America after observing there was a market for this type of large-scale event.
“We are the first and largest traveling expo that features oddities businesses and dark
artists worldwide,” said Michelle. “We have a deep passion for supporting odd small
businesses and artists so started this expo to provide a safe place for anyone to be
themselves surrounded by a community of like-minded people.”
Michelle hopes to replicate the success of their domestic events abroad. “Our event is so successful in the US because we have strong DIY ethics and have evolved for the past six years to provide the best expo possible for our exhibitors and attendees.
We work with the best exhibitors in the world and curate our show to highlight exactly
what our wonderful attendees hope to see.”
Sydney + Brisbane Only:
Guests of The Oddities and Curiosities Expo can also purchase tickets to a day-long
taxidermy class where they can learn to make their own full-sized taxidermy mount of
either a rabbit or large rat, depending on the day. In the class, hosted by The Sleeping
Sirens, students will work with sustainably sourced frozen animals to learn the basics of
taxidermy. The class will provide necessary tools and materials. Participants must be over
the age of 18, or 16 with parental consent.
Melbourne Only:
Guests of The Oddities and Curiosities Expo can also purchase tickets to an introduction to butterfly pinning entomology class hosted by Violet Eyes Entomology. Students will be guided in the step-by-step process of creating their own pinned specimens to add to their collections.
It is important to note: All animals in the taxidermy class and other parts of the show – like preserved specimens – are sourced ethically and died of natural causes.
