Dive into the Extraordinary: The Oddities and Curiosities Expo Takes Over Australia
Enjoy a showcase of all things weird.
(Australia) Brace yourselves for the strangest and most exciting event of the year as The Oddities and Curiosities Expo, the ultimate celebration of all things peculiar and
extraordinary, is making its highly anticipated return to Australia this November and
December, with stops in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
The Oddities and Curiosities Expo is a one-of-a-kind traveling showcase that brings
together hundreds of oddity vendors and artists from across the country, creating a
playground for the strange and unusual. Here, the weird, wonderful, and downright bizarre unite in a fascinating display of the extraordinary, providing a platform for vendors and artists to connect with a community of like-minded individuals.
Attendees can browse and shop for rare and unique items, including taxidermy, preserved animal specimens, dark artistry, original horror and Halloween-inspired artwork, antiques, metaphysical accoutrements, handcrafted oddities, skulls, bones, and funeral collectibles.
Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased at odditiesandcuriositiesexpo.com
The event will visit Adelaide on 30th November and 1st December, Brisbane on 7th and 8th December, Melbourne on 14th and 15th December, and Sydney on 21st and 22nd
December.
Beyond shopping, the expo offers an immersive experience with photo opportunities,
tarot readings, sideshow performances, and various concessions to keep attendees
entertained throughout the day.
Founded in Oklahoma by Michelle and Tony Cozzaglio, The Oddities and Curiosities Expo has hosted hundreds of events across North America, recognizing a growing demand for this unique large-scale gathering.
“We are so incredibly excited to return to Australia this December,” said Michelle. “We
were absolutely shocked at the interest for our first tour there in 2023 and look forward to returning bigger and better this year as we expand room sizes, add more vendors and add one new city! We met so many amazing people within the Australian oddities community last year and we can't wait to bring everyone together again.”
Adelaide Only:
Guests of The Oddities and Curiosities Expo can also purchase tickets to an introduction to butterfly pinning entomology class, led by Violet Eyes Entomology, where students will be guided through the step-by-step process of creating pinned specimens for their collections.
Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney Only:
Guests of The Oddities and Curiosities Expo have the opportunity to purchase tickets for two unique hands-on classes: a day-long taxidermy class, where participants can learn to create their own full-sized taxidermy mount of either a jackalope or raccoon using sustainably sourced frozen animals, hosted by The Sleeping Sirens, and an introduction to butterfly pinning entomology class, led by Violet Eyes Entomology, where students will be guided through the step-by-step process of creating pinned specimens for their collections.
It is important to note: All animals in the taxidermy class and other parts of the show – like preserved specimens – are sourced ethically and died of natural causes.
